A Day of Conditioning

So today we did hill sprints. Yikes! It was tough. Matt, one of our team leaders activated us to start training harder in the mornings. We usually train Mondays to Thursdays with either running or cycling. I am still getting used to cycling with intensity so I decided to run on the days we do hill sprints. If you have ever been to the Emalahleni Nature Reserve you would know that the hill we sprint on is intense. Once you think you are at the top, it just keeps on going.

Anyway, Matt said we should do 15 hill sprints this morning (me not having done any ever). I ended up being able to do 12 and it was quite challenging to me. Starting was the hardest part, but afterwards I felt energised and really strong. You can always do more than you think and it was really wonderful to do it together with everyone, seeing everyone push themselves beyond what they thought they could do. I saw black spots a few times upon sprinting up the hill but I survived (nervous laughter). The important thing is that I am growing in my physical condition and in my spiritual condition, so all glory to God because without Him I literally would not be able to do it!
